Skincare-Friendly Makeup Routine.

I typically lean more skincare-forward than full beauty glam, but I do love the hybrid products that have recently become popular. These are my go-to products that are worth the hype and elevate an easy day-to-day routine.

I have followed most of these brands as they’ve grown, and they’ve really pushed the standards regarding hero products, sustainability, and social impact in the beauty industry. I will include brand details below, but first … my favorite products (all available at Sephora)!

5 Step Skincare-Friendly Makeup Routine:

Saie

Slip Tint – Dewy Tinted Moisturizer

Slip Tint offers light coverage, UV protection, and added hydration, including both SPF 35 and hyaluronic acid. It is categorized at Sephora as clean (formulated without certain ingredients) and non-comedogenic.

Saie

Glowy Super Gel – Multipurpose Illuminator

I have a mini of this product to layer on when I want a more glowy finish. It’s also categorized as both clean and non-comedogenic at Sephora.

All-Over Hydrating Serum Concealer

I’m obsessed with the way this hydrating serum concealer blends, especially undereye. It includes hyaluronic acid and is also non-comedogenic.

ILIA

Limitless Lash Lengthening Clean Mascara

I love Ilia’s lengthening mascara for long lashes without the clumps. It also was Allure’s “Clean Beauty Winner” in 2019 (and is also categorized as clean by Sephora).

Brow Harmony Flexible Lifting and Laminating Eyebrow Gel

I finish with this eyebrow gel for the best all-day hold (without it drying crunchy). It is also waterproof if you’re out swimming!

Beauty Brands Mentioned:

Saie is a leader in the beauty industry when it comes to sustainability, with a focus on launching incredible skincare-friendly products. They’re categorized as planet-aware at Sephora, meaning they’ve met sustainable criteria, but their founder, Laney Crowell, has continued advocacy far beyond that. Saie launched in 2019 and is one of the founding members within Steibel, hopefully inspiring more responsible brand practices in the future.

Tower 28 is another great brand, founded by Amy Liu in 2019. She focused on non-toxic products, specifically for sensitive skin, though their products have become universally effective. They brought hypochlorous-acid spray to the mainstream and work to create products inclusive of all skin concerns.

Ilia Beauty was founded by Sasha Plavsic back in 2011, but they skyrocketed to new popularity when Super Serum Skin Tint was released in 2020. Ilia Beauty focuses on simple, skincare-friendly products, with many multi-use options establishing their fuss-free philosophy.

Selena Gomez founded Rare Beauty in 2020 to challenge unrealistic beauty standards and support mental health advocacy. Rare Impact (the brand’s social impact initiative) works to provide mental health resources and support youth mental health education.
